Somatic Editing
Somatic editing can alter an already existing trait that we would deem healthy and within the normal range of human capacity. This raises controversies because of the perception that somehow this creates an unfair advantage. It gets into another entire debate about a meritocracy and earning things versus having them given to you and fake. The conversation around germ line circles back again and again to this issue of human reproduction, because it is raising fears about design or babies. We are hardly ever discussing something called epigenetics which effects how strongly the geans operate.
