The Importance of Thinking Scientifically

We tend to fear unlikely, but very vivid, tragic, horrific, newsworthy events. School shootings and mass shootings outside of schools are horrific events. But they can lead us to underestimate and under protect ourselves against greater risks such as guns in the home. And so if we want to think smart, what we want to do is it sounds cold, but we should look at the data.
