Tottenham Hotspur are owned by a consortium of bankers and hedge fund managers. Isn't there a hint of delusion with me looking at my club as being deeply rooted in the community? I'm an easy mark. Football fan loyalty is the most fierce of any product in modern society. So yes, fans can be exploited for every owner who sees fans as something to be monetised and exploited. There are other owners who see the social good. They see their own opportunities to give something back to their local, town and city and provide it with an identity which otherwise wouldn't exist.
