Cartesianism and the Carteser Attack
Vico was a son of a bookseller, brought up by priests in the traditional disciplines of a pious catholic youth. He studied tristic texts and mediaeval philosophical texts before turning his attention to roman law. The attack really came from two quarters: First of all, there was a cartisian attack. And decarte one of the central tenets of de carte was a certain propaganda against what might be called humane studies.
