The Autopsis of a 14 Year Old
On one of the first bodies, this 18 year old had tied into his tea shirt, like two centimeter pouch of something that looked like soil. And he taught me that these young men sow into their tea shirts, or into their clothing, to that they bring small satchets of soil from their country. This just hit me so hard, because this was exactly what i used to do when i was an adolescent. I grew up in canada, but i had always been very attached to italy, because my parents had migrated to canada. Every year i would have to go back to canada, and i would fill my pockets with leaves, branches from the country i loved
