The Divergence of Japan's Approach to China
Japan has always recognized the importance of maintaining strong investment and trade ties with China. But there is certainly a movement much more closer to the position of the Biden administration where China is concerned. By contrast, South Korea's leaders have been very cautious on some of these broader security threats such as Taiwan. And so in that sense, there is an important divergence between the way in which Seoul and Tokyo handle the China issue.
