Does Haskell Connect to the Local Database?

I don't really think we've used this post-gres typed library in Haskell, which does some of the same kinds of things like syncing up the types of the database. But I'm kind of curious what your experience has been with diesel and because I have not used that library. Like are there any like, I don't know, sharp edges around that or has it just been kind of like great overall or.
