The Importance of Thinking and Acting at the Same Time
Being able to think and act at the same time is actually something very difficult. There's a critical theory of society that allows you to understand the limits of your action, but also to think about and know its limits and to act anyway. I think it leads people to see as a kind of pessimism as against a kind of bra-ra-optimism of some kind. It might seem pessimistic, but it's also a way to kind of be able to act for the long term somehow.
