Averuis died in 1198, by which time the eastern heartlands of Islam were deep into grappling with Avasana rather than Aristotle. His was a doubly outdated endeavor, an attempt to revive the Baghdad revival of late antique Alexandria. What Averuis offered then was a throwback to a philosophical approach that was simply no longer relevant for mainstream intellectuals in places like Persia.
