The Importance of Defining Firm Assertions
Shakespeare does not portray Catherine as a very admirable character, nor does Bianca remain long in memory. The women in the taming of the shrew are unattractive. Calling someone disagreeable or insignificant is far more weighty than saying Catherine is not very admirable and Bianca doesn't stick in the memory. It's just a firmer way of saying something. When you write, you want to be definite.
