Pete in Oxford asks if trajectory hermeneutic approach to Scripture is right. Is there anything wrong with asserting that Paul didn't go far enough when he fails to condemn slavery? Conversely, does Philip go too far in baptizing the Ethiopian eunuch without checking with the apostles in Jerusalem? Yes, I think he's saying that the New Testament is the starting off on a line and maybe we have to go further down that line. Caustiously, yes, there is a danger there because as soon as you say "I want to go here" then that's open season for all kinds of agendas.
