The War of Alexei and Charlie

There are no more rations, and what there is tastes of cordite and sand. He has heard the enemy will eat your body if they find it in the mud. From far down the trench, a cry of panic cuts through the silence. A faint haze can be seen in the distance moving with the breeze. Alexei feels his knees start to buckle as he sees his comrades stagger out of the cloud. Their melting teeth flow down their faces like tears. His limbs begin to fold and collapse as the bones within them liquify. There is no cruelty so foul the enemy will not perpetrate it.
