This focus on impact is something i really learned at my last company, a so talk tell story there. At stack overflow we learned humility the hard way, by assuming we knew it would work, and then learning that it's not that simple. It shifts the team to thinking about, again, putting the customer and the business a need front and center,. And sets an expectation that if we didn't get the impact that we need, we're going to come back to this and keep working on it....
