How to solve climate change and make life more awesome

The Gray Area with Sean Illing

CHAPTER

What Does Decarbonizing Mean?

Decarbonizing means giving us most of the things that we want in the modern world, maybe some more without producing carbon dioxide and other climate affecting gases as a byproduct. The easiest way to imagine decarbonizing transportation is you electrify your car, or you run your car on hydrogen produced by some renewable source. Decarbonize your house by getting rid of your gas powered stove and your gas powered furnace and replacing it with electric heat pumps where the electricity is provided by wind or solar or nuclear. That seems like a big job but we don't really have any choice. We either do it sooner or later and the sooner we do it, the better off we are.
