The Zero Sum Game of Status

With status, I am assuming status is not a zero sum game in that because there are so many different games we're playing simultaneously. Enron had this horrific status game where it was called the rank and yank system. People started to kind of jealously hoard it and not give it out to each other. So the opposite of Enron, believe it or not, is crossfit. The athletic cult. And when psychologists have gone into kind of examine how, why is crossfit so much more successful than a just an ordinary gym? They find that it's about the status.
