What Did It Look Like?
Three flights were conducted to clarify and corroborate the witness reports. Most described a straight trajectory, but one person said that just before impact, the planes pitch attitude and bank wered about forty five degrees. A luggage handler who was on the ramp described that the flight path deflected towards the left during its descent. The second group of witnesses was made up of fishermen who were a few hundred meters north of theimpact. They saw the airplane on a slightly pronounced descending trajectory,. One of them indicated that the front landing gear was the first to touch the water. So that would imply that it came nose down and it wasn't like a belly flop into the water.
