Confidence is extremely positive when it is merited. But having confidence which exceeds the merits is dangerous, he says. No sentence that starts with i don't know has ever got anybody in big trouble? He writes: "The sentences that caused the big trouble are the ones that start with 'i'm a hundred % sure'"
