The History of Naturopathy
The term was coined by a guy named John Shiel in 1895 and sold this word to the father of naturopathie, a man named Benedict Lust. Most states at this point were not willing to grant naturopath's licenses. The only licensed naturopathic doctors were either in England or in the American West. Even afternaturopathie suffered its first collapse as a discipline in the 1940s, it remained incredibly prevalent in the Pacific Northwest and it is today.
