Block Chains Are Good at Providing Information About the External World
Block chains are good at doing calculations and its tamper assistant. But they can't verify data about the external world. What i think the block chain can do is make it provide acanonical so in some sense, the benefit a block chain brings here is centralization, not decentralization. It's one spread sheet. And if you have one spread sheet that measures production practices, then you can incorporate this into an economic system. So instead of every company or every individual needing to independently audit their supply chainge, what happens at the moment, only the really, really large corporations can do this because it requires a lot of time.
