Echinocandin has the same mechanism of action as Caspo, anidula fungion, and microfungion. Some consider it to be a second generation, a kind of cannon, because it has been structurally modified. The half-life is about 130 hours in humans; that does give it the potential for less frequent administration. In some of the early safety studies, the only things they really reported were infusion-related reactions.
