Comet that broke apart from gravity slammed into Jupiter. Hubble telescope was just freshened a couple of years earlier and we turned every ground based telescope to it. It was the first time we ever witnessed a major comet slamming into another object in the solar system. And so what I wonder is who was looking at our planet when that same size asteroid hit Earth and took out the dinosaurs with it?
Neil has his own asteroid?! On this episode, Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Marcia Belsky answer fan questions about different types of asteroids with Marina Brozovic, orbital dynamicist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
