In 19 95, george michael tried to suthe soney because he claimed the record label had too much control over his music. The dispute cost the singers several million dollars and put his career on hold for five years. Nate sloane is assistant professor of musicology at the university of southern california. He remembers saving money from his saturday job to buy music when he was a tenager. But within a few short years, it became clear that the great cd revolution wasn't the solution that fans were looking for. Much bigger change was yet to come.
