The Exit Project, Part 2 of the Road Safety Podcast
The exit project in general is about applying scientific rigor to areas of post collision care which perhaps haven't previously benefited from that. This part of the exit project has been kindly funded by the road safety trust, and particularly looks at creating an evidence base for how we extricate injured patients from vehicles. There's never been a really high frequency of spinal injury associated with motor vehicle collision. And there's never been evidence that has showed the benefit of current extrication techniques over other techniques. So we've been through a process where we've identified gaps in evidence, done our best to fill those gaps, captured the patient experience and then utilized experts to help translate the new evidence into new principles
