The Challenges of Personalized Medicine

One of the biggest challenges in all of this personalized medicine and biohacking areas is that different people react very differently to many compounds. Different people metabolize meds in very, very different ways. So my favorite example is codeine, which is a tranquilizer, essentially a painkiller, that gets metabolized into morphine by the liver.
