Is the IMF a Central Bank?
The idea of bank corps was that we didn't trade in the US dollar. Bank corps would have been a fixed relationship to each country's currency. If your economy grew faster than another, over time you get more bank corps issued. But if you ran a trade deficit, of course you'd run out of bank corps. And then you'd be forced to devalue you. The whole thing was about trying to avoid bigger than neighbour policies. So I'm actually quite... Whatever else is done in the name of the BRICS, I'm quite in favour of something which breaks the dominance of the American system dollar because we should have done it after the Second World War. We didn't.
