How to Build Confidence in Your Subordinates
Xenophon, a Greek poet and philosopher, was trying to motivate his army. He says the soldiers were in despondency because they had lost their pep and courage. So he suggested that captains should think not merely of what they are to suffer, but likewise of what they're going to do. This is an example of how confidence can be built when you focus on your own actions rather than just surviving at all costs.
