GP Insight - What's the Latest Trend in Patients Per GP?
In September 2015, there were 1,938 patients per fully qualified full-time equivalent GP in England as a whole. By last September, there were 2,240 odd patients per GP, so about a 15% rise in 7 years. The fastest growth at ICB level in patients per GP was actually in an area with a low number of patients per GP and doors it. We also found that some areas that are already undidocked are actually getting worse quite quickly too.
