E Commerce Jumping Into the Past Five Years?
Prior to the pandemic, we had been seeing e commerce penetration of total retail growing at roughly one per centage point a year. And then all of a sudden, in 20 20, it jumped up to about 14 and a half %. Now we've seen that kind of flat line. That's something that we've seen more or less in more mature ecommerce categories. But then you have lower ecommerce penetrated categories, mainly grocery. I think everyone knows that we saw a huge acceleration of digital grocery happening on line. It happened because people were forced out of necessity to knock goin stores.
