Spencer's the Fairy Queen
Edmund Spencer came from a less exalted background and had to make his way as a servant. Sidney put his money where his mouth was, by sponsoring Spencer and other authors. As late as the 18th century we find dog-roll verse complaining about rich following suit. For now, no Sidney's will 300 give that needy Spencer and his fame may live.
