The classic week PD example is where you prove that you have certain information, but without revealing that information itself. In the locked door combination case, Alice proves that she knows the combination, but she doesn't share anything else about what that is. Applied to a cryptography context, what you essentially do is you ask a couple challenging questions of the Prover and do that millions of times in a case that essentially the probability is zero that they would be able to answer all these challenges without the constraints holding.
