How to Find Good Goals in AI Systems

I think it's definitely easy to find bad yet appealing goals and seems, I don't know, can we give AI systems goals anyway? Maybe we can understand what's going on inside them enough to figure out broadly whether they are tricking us or something else. Putting these things together, here's a picture of some guesses that I have about things. To be clear, these are numbers that I made up.
