There's still a debate going on about what these sanctions would' mean. A lot of people i talked to said that this is a pretty esculatory step, and there are real downsides. So if we take these steps, we're not in control of what china is doing in response. And they're already taking steps to decouple their systems from the us. This could lead to an escalating de coupling that doesn't necessarily benefit the us.
