The Bahamas and the World's First Digital Currency

The island nation of Bahamas was the first to introduce CBDCs, but luckily their experience offers us some hope. The Bahamian CBDC has been a massive failure, only accounting for 0.01% of currency in circulation. If the Bahamas had been such a colossal failure, why were the puppet masters still pushing for it? And more importantly, who was at the forefront of the effort?
