Is There an Opportunity for Governments to Build More Housing?

There is an opportunity for the state to take advantage of a fall in housing prices and housing costs, et cetera. But chances that have taken them are probably going to be moderated by their fiscal outlook or budget deficits. I think this puts governments in a really tricky situation. The long term response is to build more housing, but that's much easier said than done. And so it's difficult to tell just which way this will go.
