What's Going on in the Semiconductor Industry?
The two main suppliers of chips right now are out of Hong Kong in China, and you can see Hong Kong's China supply and kind of a steady stream. The Commerce Department has something called the foreign direct product rule that essentially says that even if a product is made overseas, our export controls can still be used to prevent it from being resold to places of concerns like Russia. So we really should be focused on where the chips are being exported from and how we can aid our enforcement agencies in ensuring that those chips aren't getting into the hands of the Russian government.
