The Relationship Between Liberalism and the New Liberals

Liberalism is feeling a 19th century doctrine. It's clear that the state government should not really interfere with the economy. But liberals increasingly realized that states are necessary as a matter of fact you can't have the markets without states. In the 1970s, we experienced another major recession - stagflation and inflation. And so our idea of neoliberalism was picked up by politicians like Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. That's when the liberalism became the dominant doctrine in the 1980s.
