The Myth of the Hero

The danger with any archetype is that it enhances certain ways of thinking, acting, and believing. And it inhibits other qualities, for instance, vulnerability or empathy. So I could also imagine if this fellow in his own struggle for ego strength is launching forward because he feels heroic. This looks like something dangerous. The people are here around him. He's lost his way in the archetype of the hero and is launching in this really frightening and life threatening way. But in the inner world, is he telling himself some kind of a mythic story, which doesn't line up with reality? They're interesting. I understand Jungian study them, but they're not adequate blueprints as a way of
