Can Women Become Masons?
Most masonic lodges around the world continued to be male only. The earliest documented female freemason was an irishwoman named elizabeth saint lege oldworth, who was raised in an upper class home at donerel court in county cork, ireland. When she died in the 17 seventies, she was eulogized as the lady freemason. But she was seen largely as an exception, right? She, she was kind of the exception that proved the rule, you could say,. Because that was not normal, at least not in the english speaking world, not in ireland or britain or the british empire.
