The Importance of Money in Compensation Negotiations
Money is the conversation at that point of a job search where money comes up their compensation it makes a lot of people squirm in fact I've been in business for 11 years and still I get a little uncomfortable when it comes to discussing it. A lot of people don't negotiate especially women people of color you know other folks they also don't push beyond some minimal incremental increase oh can I get five thousand dollars more let's try forty thousand dollars more people now we're talking right people peopleI think because there's a lack of transparency talking about money is that a taboo people feel guilty They're like oh I don't want to be greedy first I have to remind them that this is a business
