What Is Forgiveness?

Forgiveness is like a denial of the thing that has been wronged. U, god is in the business of forgiveness, but also rectification. And those aren't the same thing. What does it mean to remember the sins of some one no more? Is that purely god's proposition for us? Or is it something that we get to participate into among and with one another?
