Are You Using Self Awareness as a Cop Out?

Self awareness can actually be quite detrimental. It creates a false sense of control over things that are uncontrollable. If self awareness is avoidance of discomfort, then it's almost like, well, when I'm sitting in it, I don't like it and I will avoid it using self awareness. We use the word toxic often - explain to me what's toxic because is lots of conflict with your partner? Is that toxic or is that normal? Are we using these words that we're learning through self awareness as a cop out as a way to deflect off ourselves onto other people? And at that point, we actually don't practice normal conflict management.
