It is crazy how his name, that Columbus is everywhere. Can we really hold Columbus responsible for inadvertently bumping into an enormous landmass when you existed? Would it have been the same if someone else would have done it? I mean, after all, 500 years before Columbus had been there, a band of Vikings led by Leif Erikson had set foot in North America. So he wasn't the first and they established a settlement. So it was possible to arrive in America's and not rape and kill and enslave everyone with disease.
