Is There a Need for Longer Term Dialysis?
The creatinine test is a good thing to keep an eye on. The patient does not have evidence of renal recovery, so we are starting to think that she may need longer term HD. She would request a tunnel central catheter and then start thinking about setting her up for outpatient dialysis. In the outpatient setting, you expect every patient to be a chronic dialysis patient, not an acute dialysis patient.
