The song Afen Huykenbarg was written by a Jewish refugee, Vellyshard Gorotzki. He collected this and other songs in 1944 in a village in Uzbekistan. The words and some of the music were only discovered in the early 2000s. It gives a unique insight into what Soviet Jews were thinking and dreaming of having escaped from the Nazis.
