The Importance of Illusion

In common parlance, illusion refers to something that is not real. We don't take it seriously; we dismiss it as a 'fantasy' But all illusions have a reality - if you're seeing my face at the moment, you are riencing its reality. The world is an illusion in the sense that it is not what it appears to be. That doesn't mean that it's not real, and it certainly doesn'tmean that it should be rejected or dispensed with. It just means that it’s not what it Appears to be.
