Samuel Morse and the Transatlantic Cable
Samuel F. B. Morse was born on April 27th of 1791 to parents Jedidiah and Elizabeth Finley Morse. As a student, both at Phillips Academy and then at Yale College, his performance was pretty middling in all subjects,. except for art, which he loved. His father sent him to England to study at the Royal Academy, where he developed his style in the romantic tradition.
