Saponins and glycoalkyloids have been shown to impair the gut's ability to take in nutrients. They can also cause inflammation, causing death of intestinal cells as well as leaky gut. saponins are a negative force that cannot be washed off very easily or degraded with heating or cooking. The idea that they could impair lactose, lactase enzyme and lead to lactose intolerance is another reason for not eating oats.
Have you been led to believe that oatmeal is good for you? This podcast is for you! Paul does a deep dive on why you may want to cut oats (and chocolate, and leafy greens) out for good for reasons like heavy metal accumulation, antinutrients, and defense chemicals.
