Odysseus and the Cyclops

Odysseus and his men spent most of the day crafting a spear from waste wood. When they plunged that red spear into the cyclops eye, that was the worst sound they ever heard. The sounds of his shrieks accompanied by the hissing and popping of the point puncturing and earing his eye, rendering him instantly and permanently blind. It wasn't long until he cried himself to sleep.
