What Is Civilized and What Is Not Civilized?
The court was designed to, quote, civilize the indians by forcing them to desist from the savage and barbarous practices calculated to continue them in savagery. David Gorsichs: One of the things that civilized the five civilized tribes is that they had adopted some of the practices of slavery we viewed as civilized behaviour at the time.
