As you move deeper beyond the shallow reefs, you enter what's known as the mesophotic zone. This is between about to a hundred and 50 meters depth. And so while sunlight is still present er, it's in much lower concentration than it is at the surface. Not all species can survive at these depths. You get a shift in the communities that you have there e and you also get ashift in the size and shape of the corals and other organisms that live there.
